Sheila Reid (born 21 December 1937) is a Scottish actress. She is famous for playing Madge Harvey in the TV show Benidorm from 2007 to 2016.
Sheila was one of the first members of the Royal National Theatre in 1963. She played Bianca in the 1965 film Othello, starring Laurence Olivier. She has also appeared in films like Brazil (1985) and The Winter Guest (1997).

Early Life and Education
Sheila Reid was born in Glasgow, Scotland. She grew up in Bridge of Weir. Her father was in the army, so her family moved to India for a time.
She went to Moreton Hall School, which is a boarding school for girls. It's located near Oswestry in Shropshire, England. In 2014, Sheila returned to her old school to read poems by T. S. Eliot at a special reunion event.

Benidorm and Beyond
In late 2006, Sheila Reid was cast as Madge Harvey in the popular ITV sitcom Benidorm. Her character, Madge, was known for being loud and funny. She first appeared in the show in February 2007 with her on-screen family, The Garveys.
Madge and The Garveys left Benidorm in 2015, but Sheila returned to play Madge for a few more episodes in 2015 and 2016.
After Benidorm, Sheila continued to act. She appeared in Call the Midwife (2012) and returned to Doctor Who in 2013 and 2014 as Clara Oswald's Grandmother. She has also been in shows like Psychobitches and Casualty. More recently, she has appeared in Big Boys (2022), Dreamland (2023), and Inside No. 9 (2023).

Sheila Reid was married to actor Julian Curry. Later, in 2008, she married her partner of 32 years, Terry Bullen, in a private ceremony in London.
