Sidney Green (born January 4, 1961) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. He played college basketball for the UNLV Runnin' Rebels. In 1983, the Chicago Bulls picked him in the National Basketball Association (NBA) draft. After playing for ten years in the NBA, he became a college coach. Today, he works as a team ambassador for the Chicago Bulls.

Early Life and College Basketball
Sidney Green was born in Brooklyn, New York. He is 6 feet 9 inches tall. He played as a forward and center. Sidney went to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He played for the UNLV Runnin' Rebels basketball team.
In 1983, Green was chosen as an All-American player. His last game for UNLV was a loss to North Carolina State in the 1983 tournament.
Playing in the NBA

On September 24, 2009, Green became a player development assistant for the Chicago Bulls. Later, he became a community relations ambassador for the Bulls. This means he helps connect the team with fans and the community.
Sidney's Son, Taurean
Sidney's son, Taurean Green, also played basketball. He was part of the University of Florida team that won the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship in both 2006 and 2007. Taurean has also played basketball professionally in the NBA and in Europe.
