What is the Sierra Arana Like?

The Sierra Arana is mostly a karstic mountain range. This means its landscape is shaped by water dissolving limestone rock. This process creates cool features like caves, sinkholes, and underground rivers. It is part of a bigger mountain system called the Subbaetic System.

Some geographers believe that Sierra Arana includes other nearby mountain ranges. These include the Sierra de Cogollos, the Sierra de la Yedra, and the Sierra de Alfacar y Víznar.
