Silver Creek is a small town in Lawrence County, Mississippi, in the United States. In 2010, about 210 people lived there. You can reach Silver Creek using U.S. Route 84 and Mississippi Highway 43. A movie called Jesse James' Women was filmed in Silver Creek in 1954.

History of Silver Creek
People started settling in the Silver Creek area around 1820. Some of the first families were the Kirbys, Neals, Longinos, Prices, and Williams. The area was first called "The Hall." In 1893, its name was changed to Silver Creek, named after a stream nearby.
A train station, called a depot, was built in Silver Creek in 1903. This happened when the Pearl & Leaf Rivers Railroad, which later became the Illinois Central Railroad, finished its railway line.
In 1993, the Illinois Central Railroad stopped using this train line. Another short train line, the Columbia and Silver Creek Railroad, ran between Silver Creek and Columbia until 1992. The Rogers House, a historic building south of Silver Creek, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's an important historical site.
Where is Silver Creek?
Silver Creek is located in the eastern part of Lawrence County. Its exact spot is 31°36′17″N 90°0′6″W / 31.60472°N 90.00167°W. U.S. Route 84 runs along the southern edge of the town. This road goes southwest about 7 miles (11 km) to Monticello, which is the main town of the county. It also goes east about 8 miles (13 km) to Prentiss.
Mississippi Highway 43 goes through the middle of Silver Creek and is known as Front Street. This highway goes north about 9 miles (14 km) to New Hebron. Another road, Highway 43A, goes south from Silver Creek about 8 miles (13 km) to Arm.
The United States Census Bureau says that Silver Creek covers a total area of about 3.9 square kilometers (1.5 square miles), and all of it is land. A waterway also called Silver Creek forms the eastern border of the town. This stream flows south and joins the Pearl River.
