Simbach am Inn is a town in Bavaria, Germany. It sits right on the River Inn. Across the river, you can see the Austrian city of Braunau am Inn. Simbach is part of the Rottal-Inn district.

History of Simbach
Simbach am Inn has an interesting history. It was one of the first places to use electricity! Imagine, Simbach had electric power three years before the big city of Munich did.
The town grew a lot because it was on the important railway line that connected Munich to Vienna. This made it a key stop for travel and trade.
Important Dates in Simbach's History
- 927 – Simbach is first mentioned in old records. Back then, it was called "Sunninpah."
- 1743 – The town was almost completely destroyed during a big conflict called the War of the Austrian Succession.
- 1833 – Simbach became its own independent town.
- 1951 – Simbach was officially given "city status." This made it the newest city in the Rottal-Inn district at the time.
- 1972 – A few nearby villages, Kirchberg, Eggstetten, and Erlach, joined Simbach.

Schellenberg Hill
North of Simbach, there's a tall hill called Schellenberg. It's over 549 meters high! This makes it the tallest hill between the Inn and Rott rivers. From the top, you can see amazing views of the Inn Valley. On clear days, you can even spot the distant Alps mountains.
