Sir Pizza facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Sir Pizza is a popular chain of pizza restaurants in the United States. It's known for its unique thin-crust pizzas.

The story of Sir Pizza began in 1957. That's when Wendell Swartz opened his first restaurant in Lafayette, Indiana. He called it Pizza King. Later, in 1965, Wendell's brother, Robert Swartz, started his own separate chain. This chain was also called Pizza King and was based in Muncie, Indiana.

In 1966, Robert's chain began to expand outside of Indiana. To avoid confusion with Wendell's original Pizza King, they started using the name "Sir Pizza" for these new locations. However, inside Indiana, both chains still use the name Pizza King. Sir Pizza's motto is "Good to the very edge." This means they put toppings all the way to the crust, so you get flavor in every bite!

What Makes Sir Pizza Special?

Sir Pizza is famous for its special way of making pizza. Their pizzas have a very thin crust. The cheese, sauce, and toppings go all the way to the very edge. This is why their slogan is "Good to the Very Edge."

Another unique thing about Sir Pizza is their pepperoni. Instead of using sliced pepperoni, they grind it into small crumbles. These crumbles are spread evenly over the whole pizza. It's a lot like how sausage is used on a pizza.

Where Can You Find Sir Pizza?
