History of Smyrna Village
The village of Smyrna has a history that goes back a long time. It was officially recognized as a village in the year 1829. This means it gained its own local government and rules.

Smyrna village is found in the eastern part of the larger town of Smyrna. You can find it at these coordinates: 42°41′10″N 75°34′16″W / 42.68611°N 75.57111°W.
Roads and Nearby Places
The village is located right on New York State Route 80. This road meets County Road 20 here. If you travel about 4 miles (6.4 km) east, you'll reach the village of Sherburne. Going about 8 miles (12.9 km) west on NY-80 will take you to the small community of Otselic.

There are no large lakes or rivers within the village limits. Pleasant Brook, a small stream that flows eastward, forms the southern edge of the village.
