Sofya Andreyevna Zhuk (Russian: Софья Андреевна Жук; born on December 1, 1999) is a former professional tennis player from Russia. She is best known for winning the Wimbledon girls' singles title in 2015.

Sofya Zhuk's Tennis Journey
Starting Her Career
Sofya Zhuk began her tennis training at the Justine Henin Academy in Belgium. Later, she moved to the USA and trained at the IMG Academy. In 2014, she won her first tournament in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. This was a big achievement because she was only 14 years old. She joined a special group of young players who won an open tournament at that age, including famous players like Justine Henin.
Wimbledon Junior Champion
In 2015, Sofya competed at Wimbledon as an unseeded player. This means she wasn't expected to win, but she surprised everyone! She won the junior girls' title without losing a single set throughout the whole tournament. She beat another Russian player, Anna Blinkova, in the final. Sofya was only the second Russian girl to win the Wimbledon junior title.
Playing on the WTA Tour
In 2016, Sofya made her first appearance on the WTA Tour, which is where professional adult players compete. She played at the 2016 Miami Open after getting a special invitation.
Big Matches and Rankings
In 2018, Sofya had some exciting matches. She reached her first final in a big tournament called a WTA 125 event in Newport Beach, California. She played against Danielle Collins and had a tough three-set match.
Later that year, at Indian Wells, Sofya got her first win on the main WTA Tour. She beat Alizé Cornet and then an even higher-ranked player, Magdalena Rybarikova.
