Sheldon Pitt, known by his stage name Solitair, is a talented Canadian rapper and record producer. He comes from Toronto, Ontario. Solitair is famous for creating hip hop and R&B songs. He has been working in music for over 20 years!
Solitair helped start a music group and production team called Black Jays. He has produced songs for many famous artists. These include Nina Sky, Glenn Lewis, Kardinal Offishall, and Jully Black.

Solitair's Music Journey
Early Career and First Songs
In the late 1990s, Solitair was part of a hip-hop group called "The Circle." In 1998, he released his first song on a 12-inch record. It was called "Silver Surfer."
Around 2000, Solitair and another rapper, Kardinal Offishall, started their own production company. They called it "Silver House and the Girl," or S.H.A.G. They worked together to produce music for many hip-hop and R&B artists in Canada.
Solitair's first big international success was producing Kardinal Offishall's song "BaKardi Slang." This song came out in 2001. Also in 2001, Solitair released a video for his own song "Easy 2 Slip." This video was nominated for an award in 2002 at the MuchMusic Video Awards. It was also nominated for Best Rap Recording at the 2002 Juno Awards.
The Black Jays Team
By 2004, Solitair and Kardinal Offishall changed the name of their company to Black Jays. They worked on a special remixed version of Jay-Z's album The Black Album. They called their version The Black Jays Album.
Solitair also produced the main song "Kill Bill" for Kardinal's mixtape Kill Bloodcott Bill. He even rapped on some other songs on that mixtape. Solitair and another rapper, Ro Dolla, also created the intro music for a basketball TV show called NBA XL. This show was on Rogers Sportsnet.
More Fire Productions
In 2006, Solitair started working with Cipha Sounds from the famous radio station Hot 97. The songs they produced together were made under the name "More Fire."
Through their partnership, Solitair and Cipha Sounds produced music for many artists. These include Nina Sky, Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, Dj Khaled, and Trey Songz.
Giving Back to the Community
Solitair cares about helping young people. He volunteers his time to speak to students at high schools in Toronto. He talks to students who might be facing challenges.
He also teaches audio production part-time at Toronto Metropolitan University. This means he helps students learn how to make and record music.
