Early Life and Beginnings
Sophie Lowe was born in Sheffield, England. In 2000, when she was about 10 years old, her family moved to Australia. When she was a young teenager, Sophie started modeling. However, she soon decided that she wanted to focus on acting instead.

First Steps in Acting
Sophie Lowe began her acting journey with short films. She played the main character, Hayley, in a film called Kindle. She also appeared in Mirage, which was shown at the Montreal World Film Festival. Before she finished school at The McDonald College in 2008, she also acted in several TV commercials.
Major Roles in Films
Sophie's first big role was playing Kate in the movie Beautiful Kate, which came out in 2009. Her performance earned her a nomination for an AFI Award for Best Lead Actress. She also played Natalie in the thriller film Blame in 2010. This movie was shown at many film festivals around the world, like Cannes Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival.
In 2013, Sophie worked with her friend Rhys Wakefield on a short film. They wrote, directed, and starred in A Man Walks Into a Bar.... This film was a finalist at the Tropfest short film festival in Sydney. Sophie and Rhys had also worked together in the 2013 movie After the Dark.
Starring in TV Shows
From 2013 to 2014, Sophie played Alice in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. This show was a spin-off from the popular TV series Once Upon a Time.
In 2014, Sophie was chosen to play Lena in the TV series The Returned. The next year, in 2015, she starred in The Beautiful Lie. This Australian TV series was based on the famous novel Anna Karenina. She also filmed Waiting for the Miracle to Come, which was the first feature film by director Lian Lunson.
More recently, in 2022, Sophie starred in the Czech historical drama film Medieval. This movie was the most expensive Czech film ever made. She is also set to appear in an upcoming film called "The Dive".

Early Music Releases
Sophie Lowe is also a talented singer and songwriter. She first performed music under the name SOLO. In December 2013, she released a five-song collection called an EP. The music video for her song "Dreaming" was directed by actress Bonnie Wright.
Later, Sophie started using her real name for her music. In October 2015, she re-released her first music as Sophie Lowe, calling it EP1. The next month, in November 2015, she released her second EP, EP2, which had seven songs. EP2 showed a change in her music style, moving towards a more Electropop sound. To promote EP2, she released three singles: "Understand", "Pink Flowers", and "Breathe".
New Songs and Collaborations
Since 2016, Sophie has released several individual songs. In August 2016, she released a song called "Mean" with the group TWINKIDS. That same year, she appeared in the music video for "Never Be Like You" by Flume and Kai. This music video has been watched over 40 million times on YouTube.
In October 2017, she released the single "Trust". This song was featured in TV shows like The Bold Type and Charmed. As of November 2022, "Trust" is her most popular song on Spotify, with over 1 million streams.
In September 2018, she released "Taught You How To Feel". The music video for this song was directed by Bonnie Wright, making it their second time working together.
On May 11, 2021, Sophie released the single "I Don't Want You Around". She directed and edited the music video for this song herself. After three years, Sophie returned with the Indie pop song "From the Inside" on January 24, 2023. The official music video for this song features Australian actor and model James Frecheville.
Sophie's Life and Interests
Sophie Lowe has said that she focuses on both acting and music. When she has free time between acting jobs, she tries to make as much music as she can. She has stated that she would never stop acting for her music career. "There's no way I'm not acting," she said, "because that's my life."
