Career

Becoming Ginny Weasley in Harry Potter (2001–2011)

In 1999, auditions were held across the UK for the first Harry Potter movie. Bonnie's older brother thought she looked like Ginny Weasley from the books. Even though she had only acted in school plays, Bonnie decided to audition. She got a screen test and soon after, her parents were told she got the role!

Bonnie made her film debut at age nine in 2001 with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. She had a small role in a scene at London King's Cross railway station. Her character, Ginny, and her mother meet Harry Potter there. The movie was a huge success. The next year, she returned in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. In this film, Ginny starts at Hogwarts and finds a secret diary that begins to control her.

Bonnie had supporting roles in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005). These films were also very successful and made her more famous worldwide.
