South Bend is a city in Washington state, United States. It is the main town, or county seat, of Pacific County. In 2020, about 1,746 people lived there. South Bend is well-known for its delicious oysters and beautiful scenery.

History of South Bend
South Bend officially became a city on September 27, 1890. It got its name because it is located on a bend in the Willapa River. In 1893, South Bend became the county seat, taking over from Oysterville. The historic Pacific County Courthouse in South Bend is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Geography and Climate
South Bend is located at 46°39′49″N 123°48′4″W / 46.66361°N 123.80111°W on the Willapa River. The city covers about 2.01 square miles (5.21 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water.
