How South Kumminin Started
The town of South Kumminin grew up around a railway line. This railway connects Kondinin to Merredin.
- In 1917, when the railway line first opened, a special stop was made. This stop was called Arrowsmith.
- Later that same year, the name was changed to South Kumminin.
- In 1918, people started planning out the land for homes and businesses.
- Finally, in 1921, South Kumminin was officially recognized as a town. This is called being gazetted.
