South Yarmouth is a community located in the town of Yarmouth. It is part of Barnstable County in the state of Massachusetts, United States. In 2020, about 11,703 people lived there. South Yarmouth is one of the biggest communities in Yarmouth.

Location and Size of South Yarmouth
South Yarmouth is found in the southeastern part of the town of Yarmouth. It is located at coordinates 41°40′4″N 70°11′59″W / 41.66778°N 70.19972°W. To its west is West Yarmouth. To the east, you will find West Dennis.
North of South Yarmouth is U.S. Route 6, which is also known as the Mid-Cape Highway. Beyond this highway is the community of Yarmouth Port.
The total area of South Yarmouth is about 20.2 square kilometers (7.8 square miles). Most of this area is land, which is about 18.0 square kilometers (6.96 square miles). The rest, about 2.2 square kilometers (0.85 square miles), is water.
