St. Regis Falls is located in the northern part of the town of Waverly. It sits right along the northern side of the St. Regis River. This river is a branch that flows into the larger St. Lawrence River.

The famous falls that give the community its name are found on the river. They are located at the western edge of the town. The entire area of St. Regis Falls covers about 3.35 square kilometers (1.29 square miles) of land. There is no water area within the CDP itself.

Roads and Travel Routes

New York State Route 458 is a main road that goes through St. Regis Falls. If you travel west on this route, you will reach Nicholville in about 8 miles. Going southeast for about 6.5 miles will take you to Santa Clara.

Larger towns are also accessible from St. Regis Falls. Potsdam is about 23 miles to the west. You can get there by taking Route 458 and then Route 11B. Paul Smiths is about 26 miles to the southeast. This trip involves Routes 458 and Route 30.

Community Borders

The northern edge of St. Regis Falls follows the border between the town of Waverly and the town of Dickinson. This helps define where the community officially ends.

Local School and Unique Spots

The Saint Regis Falls Central School is located in the northern part of the community. This school serves students from the town of Waverly and other nearby towns.

There's a marshy area east of the village that locals sometimes call "Alligator Alley." This name refers to where the water meets Duane Street (also known as Red Tavern Road) on both sides, just before a place called Trim Hill.
