Stefanos Kapino (Greek: Στέφανος Καπίνος; born on March 18, 1994) is a Greek professional footballer. He plays as a goalkeeper for Swiss Super League club Winterthur.

Early Life and Football Start
Stefanos was born in Piraeus, Greece. His family came to Greece from Albania. He started playing football in the youth team of a club called Aetos in Korydallos, Piraeus.
Even though scouts from Olympiacos first noticed him, Panathinaikos signed him in June 2007. He joined their youth system for about €17,000. At Panathinaikos, he slowly became a key player for their under-18 and under-21 teams.
Club Career Highlights
Playing for Panathinaikos
Stefanos Kapino made his first team debut for Panathinaikos on September 17, 2011. This happened during a Super League match. He came into the game after his teammate, Orestis Karnezis, received a red card and had to leave the field.
At 17 years old, Stefanos became the youngest goalkeeper to ever play for Panathinaikos. He played in 11 more matches that season, making a total of 12 appearances. The 2013–14 season was his best at Panathinaikos. He played regularly in most league games. This helped him get chosen for the 2014 World Cup team.
Moving to Mainz 05
In 2014, Kapino moved to Germany to play for Bundesliga club Mainz 05. He signed a four-year contract. He made his Bundesliga debut on February 7, 2015. This happened when the starting goalkeeper received a red card.
Time with Olympiacos
After one year in Germany, Kapino returned to Greece. He joined Olympiacos, a rival club to Panathinaikos. He signed a three-year deal.
He played his first Greek Super League game for Olympiacos on March 21, 2016. He also played in most games during the 2015–16 Greek Football Cup season. In July 2016, Kapino played his first European club match in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers. He started the 2016–17 season as the main goalkeeper for Olympiacos.
In March 2017, Kapino returned to action after an injury. He made important saves in a derby match against Panathinaikos. He started the 2017–18 season as the main goalkeeper again. However, after some difficult games, he faced challenges and later left the club.
Playing for Nottingham Forest
On February 7, 2018, Kapino signed an 18-month deal with EFL Championship club Nottingham Forest in England. He made his debut for the club on April 21, 2018.
Joining Werder Bremen
On August 1, 2018, Kapino moved to German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen. He signed a contract until 2020. He made his debut for the club on April 13, 2019, coming on as a substitute. In January 2021, Kapino joined 2. Bundesliga club SV Sandhausen on loan.
With Arminia Bielefeld
Kapino moved to Bundesliga club Arminia Bielefeld in August 2021. He signed a contract until 2023. In December, he played in an important match against RB Leipzig.
Short Spell at Miedź Legnica
In January 2023, Kapino joined Ekstraklasa club Miedź Legnica in Poland. He played four league games before leaving the club in May 2023.
Return to Greece with Panetolikos
On June 27, 2023, Kapino returned to Greece. He joined Super League club Panetolikos on a two-year contract.
Current Club: Winterthur
On August 6, 2024, Kapino signed with Swiss Super League club Winterthur. He currently plays there.
International Career
Stefanos Kapino has played for Greece at different youth levels. He played for the Greece under-17 and under-19 teams. He is the youngest player to ever play for Greece U17, making his debut at 15 years old.
On November 15, 2011, at 17 years old, he made his debut for the men's national team. This made him the youngest player to ever represent Greece at the senior level.
Stefanos was part of the 23-player squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. He was the third-choice goalkeeper. On June 4, 2016, he played in a friendly match against Australia. He made many great saves. On March 25, 2017, he played in a crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Belgium. He performed very well, helping Greece avoid a defeat.
