Stephen Amell is a big fan of professional wrestling. He worked to get a guest appearance on WWE's weekly Raw show. In May 2015, it was reported that he would wrestle Stardust at WWE's SummerSlam event in August.

Amell first appeared on Raw on May 25, where he had a face-off with Stardust. He returned to Raw in early August. After Stardust attacked him in the audience, Amell went into the ring to fight back. It was then announced that Neville would team with Amell to face Stardust and King Barrett at SummerSlam.

At the event on August 23, 2015, Amell and Neville won their tag team match against Barrett and Stardust. Amell took part in the wrestling, and other wrestlers were impressed with his performance. Amell became friends with Rhodes, and they later worked together on Arrow. On December 21, 2015, Amell won a Slammy award for "Celebrity Moment of the Year" for his dive onto Stardust during the match.

Ring of Honor (2017)

Amell returned to professional wrestling for Ring of Honor on November 17, 2017. This was at their Survival of the Fittest event. On the day of the show, Amell joined the Bullet Club group. He teamed up with Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson). They won a tag team match against The Addiction (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian), Flip Gordon, and Scorpio Sky. Amell again participated in the wrestling, even being put through a table.

On August 6, 2018, it was announced that Amell would compete at All In. This was his first-ever singles match, where he was defeated by Christopher Daniels.

All Elite Wrestling (2020)

Helping Others: Philanthropy

Stephen Amell has led many successful fundraising campaigns. He uses a platform called Represent.com to sell merchandise. In 2014, Amell worked with a charity that supports cancer patients. He helped raise almost a million dollars by selling a T-shirt with his face on it. He sold over 60,000 shirts for this campaign.

In January 2015, Amell started another campaign. He used a word he made up, Sinceriously, to help two mental health charities: Paws and Stripes and Stand For The Silent. In August 2015, Amell used his guest appearance on WWE Raw with Stardust to raise money for Emily's House, a children's hospice in Toronto. This campaign raised $300,000. Public Statements

Stephen Amell's public comments have sometimes caused discussion. In September 2015, he commented on an incident where a student was arrested for bringing a clock to school. Amell tweeted that "stereotyping Texas isn't any better than stereotyping Ahmed", referring to the student. This tweet led to some online discussion.

In 2018, Amell faced comments after he tweeted "my âpölògīés" when people criticized him for not using the correct accent mark in singer Beyoncé's name. He later explained it was because he was "lazy in the midst of a mediocre joke".

In 2020, during the Black Lives Matter protests, Amell received comments after he said that racism is a problem but he had not personally "seen it in action".

In 2021, Amell was asked to leave a flight. He later explained on a podcast that he was upset during the incident.

In July 2023, Amell was criticized for comments he made at a fan convention about the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. While he supported SAG-AFTRA as his union, he called striking a "reductive negotiating tactic" and "myopic". He seemed to suggest the strike stopped him from promoting the second season of Heels. He later clarified his opinion. He said that while he does not like striking, he "understands fundamentally why we're here". He stated his support for the union was strong and he stood with them. Amell did not attend an Arrow cast reunion on the picket line in California. However, he was photographed on a picket line in New York City on the same day. He reportedly sent his best wishes to his former showrunners in California. Marc Guggenheim, an executive producer of Arrow, saw his attendance in New York as a sign of his support.
