Stephen William Moutray was born on February 25, 1959. He is a politician from the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) in Northern Ireland. He has held several important roles in local government.
He is currently a councillor for the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council. He represents the Lurgan area. Before this, he was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). An MLA is like a Member of Parliament, but for Northern Ireland. He served for the Upper Bann area from 2003 to 2016.
Moutray also worked as a councillor for the Craigavon Borough Council. He represented Lurgan from 2001 to 2014. During this time, he was even the Mayor of Craigavon from 2010 to 2011.
Stephen Moutray's Political Journey
Stephen Moutray began his political career in local government. He was first elected to the Craigavon Borough Council in 2001. He represented the Lurgan area.
In 2003, he was elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly. This is where laws are made for Northern Ireland. He represented the Upper Bann area. He served as an MLA until 2016.
After leaving the Assembly, he returned to local politics. In December 2018, he became a councillor for the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council. He was re-elected to this council in both 2019 and 2023.

He has been a member of the Democratic Unionist Party since 1979. He is married and has three children. In his free time, he enjoys golf, walking, and cycling. He is also an active member of the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster.
