Storfors Municipality (which in Swedish is Storfors kommun) is a local area in west central Sweden. It is part of Värmland County. The main town and administrative center is Storfors. About 2,500 people live in the town of Storfors.
The municipality was first formed in 1950. At that time, a market town called Storfors separated from another area named Kroppa. Later, in 1967, another area called Ullvättern joined Storfors. This created the municipality as it is today.
Storfors is one of the least populated municipalities in Sweden. This means not many people live there. The closest big city is Karlstad. It is about 50 kilometers (31 miles) to the west.
