String Lake is a beautiful lake located in Grand Teton National Park. This park is in the state of Wyoming, in the United States. String Lake gets its water from Leigh Lake, which is just north of it.
The lake is known for being quite shallow. This makes it a great spot for swimming and other water activities. It's also easy to get to by car. Many hiking trails start from the String Lake parking area.

About String Lake
String Lake is a natural lake. It was formed by glaciers long ago. It sits at an elevation of about 6,870 feet (2,094 meters) above sea level. The lake is about 1.3 miles (2.1 kilometers) long and 0.2 miles (0.32 kilometers) wide. It covers an area of about 100 acres (40 hectares).
Water Flow
Water flows into String Lake from Leigh Lake. A short creek, about half a mile (0.8 kilometers) long, connects String Lake to Jenny Lake. Jenny Lake is located to the south. This means water from Leigh Lake travels through String Lake before reaching Jenny Lake.
Wildlife and Nature
A small wetland area is found on the northwest side of String Lake. This area is a perfect home for moose. You might be lucky enough to spot these large animals near the water.
