Early Life

Susan Rose was born in a town called Hudson, New York. She went to Hudson High School. After finishing high school in 1971, she studied art. She attended the Boston School of the Museum of Fine Arts and the Hartford Art School.

Her Career in Cartoons and TV

Susan Rose and her friend Joanna Ferrone first created the character Fido Dido in 1985. Susan drew him on a napkin at a restaurant! Joanna then gave him the name "Fido Dido." They even put Fido on T-shirts with a special message: "Fido is for Fido, Fido is against no one." Later, in 1988, a big company called PepsiCo licensed Fido Dido. This meant Fido Dido appeared on many products, like soda cans.

In 1996, Susan Rose created an animated TV show called Pepper Ann. This show was made by Walt Disney Television Animation. It first aired on September 13, 1997, on ABC. Pepper Ann actually started as a comic strip that Susan created for YM magazine in the early 1990s. The TV show became very popular and won many awards.

Susan Rose and Joanna Ferrone later created another animated TV show called Angela Anaconda. This show was on Fox Family Channel from 1999 to 2001. Susan Rose also did the voice for the main character, Angela! The show was made with a special "cut-out" animation style. It also aired in Canada on Teletoon. Angela Anaconda brought Susan many awards and nominations for her work.

In 2004, Susan Rose's live-action show Unfabulous started on Nickelodeon. This show was about a tween (a pre-teenager) and starred Emma Roberts. It was a popular show that ran until 2007.
