How the Musical Started
The musical Suffs was first planned to open on April 6, 2022, at The Public Theater. However, the first few shows had to be canceled. This happened because many people in the cast got sick with COVID-19.
The show started its first performances, called "previews," on March 13. It was originally supposed to run until April 24. But because so many people wanted to see it, the show's run was extended three times! It first got extended to May 1, then to May 15, and finally until May 29.
