Sujoy Ghosh (born May 21, 1966) is an Indian film director, producer, actor, and screenwriter. He is famous for his work in Hindi movies, also known as Bollywood.
Ghosh has directed many popular films. Some of his best-known movies are Jhankaar Beats (2003), the mystery-thriller Kahaani (2012), and its sequel Kahaani 2 (2016). He also directed the thriller Badla (2019). Besides full-length movies, he has made short films like Ahalya (2015). He has also worked with Netflix on projects like the horror series Typewriter (2019).

Early Life and Education
Sujoy Ghosh was born in Kolkata, a large city in India. He went to St. James' School there. When he was 13, his family moved to London.
In England, he finished his high school studies at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College. He later earned a degree in engineering and an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from Manchester University. Before becoming a filmmaker, he worked for a company called Reuters as a manager. He left that job in 1999 to follow his dream of making movies.
Sujoy is married to Vaishali, and they have two children.
Career in Filmmaking
Ghosh started his directing career in 2003 with Jhankaar Beats. It was a tribute to the famous music composer R. D. Burman and became a surprise hit. His next two films, Home Delivery and Aladin, were not as successful.
His big breakthrough came in 2012 with the movie Kahaani. It starred actress Vidya Balan and was a huge success with both audiences and critics. In 2016, he released Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh, which was a separate story but part of the same series.
Besides directing, Ghosh has also acted. He played the famous Bengali detective Byomkesh Bakshi in a film. He also wrote the popular slogan "Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo Re" for the Kolkata Knight Riders, a team in the IPL cricket tournament.
