Club Career Highlights
Starting with Ajax
Suk Hyun-jun began his journey in professional football with the Dutch club Ajax. He first tried out for the team and then signed a contract in October 2010. He made his first appearance for the main team in February 2010. This was during a game where Ajax won 4–0 against Roda JC.
He scored his first goal for Ajax in a friendly match against Chelsea in July 2010. However, he did not play in any official games during the 2010–11 season. His contract with Ajax was not extended after that season.
Moving to Groningen
On June 27, 2011, Suk joined Groningen, another Dutch club. He signed a two-year contract. In his first season with Groningen, he scored five goals. Two of these goals were against a strong team, PSV Eindhoven. This showed he had a lot of potential to grow as a player. However, he did not score any goals in the next season and left the club.
Playing in Portugal and Saudi Arabia
In January 2013, Suk moved to Portugal and joined Primeira Liga club Marítimo. He quickly scored his first goal for Marítimo in his third game. This goal helped his team win 1–0 against Sporting CP. He scored another important goal in a 1–1 draw with Porto. After scoring four goals in half a year for Marítimo, he moved to the Saudi club Al-Ahli.
Suk then joined Nacional in Portugal. Later, on January 12, 2015, he moved to another Portuguese club, Vitória de Setúbal.
During the 2014–15 season, he scored ten goals in total. Five goals were for Nacional and five for Vitória. In the next season, he had a great first half, scoring 11 goals. One of his goals, a long-range shot against Académica, was named the Primeira Liga Goal of the Month for August and September 2015. He also scored an amazing free-kick against Braga in January 2016.
Time with Porto and Loan Spells
Because of his excellent performances, Suk moved to Porto on January 15, 2016. However, his time at Porto was not as successful. He then went on loan to Trabzonspor in Turkey in August 2016.
After a short time at Trabzonspor, Suk's loan ended early in January 2017. He then joined the Hungarian team Debrecen on loan for the rest of that season.
Joining Troyes
On August 30, 2017, Suk was loaned again, this time to Ligue 1 club Troyes in France. He scored his first goal for Troyes in his fifth game against Strasbourg. He continued to score in the next two league matches, starting the season strongly. In December, he scored two goals against Monaco. However, an ankle injury in January 2018 kept him from playing for over a month. After his injury, he found it hard to get back to his best form.
In June 2018, Troyes signed Suk permanently. He then moved to Reims in August 2018. However, Suk returned to Troyes in January 2020. His contract with Troyes ended in July 2022.
