What is Sulphur Gulch?

Sulphur Gulch is a natural channel that carries water, especially after rain or snowmelt. It is located in Douglas County, Colorado. This area is about 20 miles (32 km) southeast of Denver. It is also about 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Parker.

Where Does Sulphur Gulch Flow?

The gulch starts near Hilltop, about 5 miles (8.0 km) north of it. It then flows west through the eastern part of Douglas County. Finally, Sulphur Gulch flows into Cherry Creek. This meeting point is in a place called Bar CCC Park.

Water Levels in the Gulch

Sulphur Gulch is often dry during the summer months. This means there isn't much water flowing in it. However, it can fill up quickly if there is heavy rain. In the spring, the gulch becomes full of water. This happens when snow from the mountains melts. The gulch has also experienced floods several times.
