Summer Yasmine Bishil (born July 17, 1988) is an American actress. She first became well-known for playing Jasira in the 2007 film Towelhead. For this role, she was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead.
After that, she had smaller parts in movies and TV shows. These included The Last Airbender (2010) and 90210 (2011). Later, she starred in the ABC series Lucky 7 (2013). From 2015 to 2020, she played Margo Hanson on the Syfy fantasy drama series The Magicians.

Early Life and Education
Summer Bishil was born in Pasadena, California. She is the youngest of three children. Her mother is from Mexico, and her father is from India.
In 1991, when Summer was three years old, her family moved. They lived in Saudi Arabia and then in Bahrain. There, she and her brother went to British and American schools.
Her family returned to the United States in 2001. They moved to a community in San Diego. Summer found it hard to adjust to life back in the U.S. Her family later moved to Arcadia. Her mother taught her at home there. She also took classes at Citrus College in Glendora, California.
Acting Career Highlights
Summer Bishil started taking acting lessons when she was 14 years old. Within a year, she had a manager and an agent. Her first acting job was on the Nickelodeon TV show Just for Kicks. After that, she appeared in other children's shows.
Her big break came in 2007. She played the main character, Jasira, in the film Towelhead. Critics praised her acting in the movie. One critic said her performance was "the truest thing" in the film. Another writer called her "one of the finest natural film actresses to emerge in years."
In 2009, she filmed Crossing Over. This movie starred famous actors like Harrison Ford and Ashley Judd. She was also chosen to play Azula in the 2010 film The Last Airbender. Her character was planned to be a main part of a sequel that was never made.
In 2013, Summer Bishil was cast in a main role. She played Samira in the ABC drama Lucky 7. In late 2014, she got the role of Margo Hanson. This was in the Syfy drama series The Magicians. The show ran for five seasons and ended in 2020.
