When Will Sungei Kadut MRT Station Open?
This station is expected to open in the middle of the 2030s. It will make it easier for people to travel around Singapore. The station will help connect different parts of the city.
The History of Sungei Kadut Station
The idea for Sungei Kadut station first came up a long time ago, in 1990. It was planned as part of an extension for the North South Line. However, at that time, there weren't enough people living or working in the area. So, the station was not built.
Years later, on May 25, 2019, the station was announced again. It is now part of a big plan called the Land Transport Master Plan 2040. This plan helps Singapore improve its public transport system. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is in charge of this plan.
What Train Lines Will Serve Sungei Kadut?
Sungei Kadut will be an "interchange station." This means you can switch between two different train lines here.
- The North South Line (NSL) will connect you to many places. These include Woodlands, Orchard, and Marina South Pier.
- The Downtown Line (DTL) will link you to areas like Bukit Panjang, Botanic Gardens, and Chinatown.
Having two lines meet here will make travel much more convenient.

- The North South Line trains are operated by SMRT Trains.
- The Downtown Line trains are operated by SBS Transit DTL.
Both companies work to make sure trains run smoothly. The entire train system is owned by the Land Transport Authority.
