Surbhi Jyoti (born on May 29, 1988) is a talented Indian actress. She is well-known for her work in Hindi TV shows and Punjabi movies. Surbhi became very famous for playing Zoya Farooqui Khan in the TV show Qubool Hai. For this role, she won many awards, including the GR8! Performer Of The Year award.
Later, she gained even more fans by playing Bela Sehgal, a magical shape-shifting serpent, in the popular TV series Naagin 3. She was even nominated for Best Actress for this role. In 2021, Surbhi also started acting in Hindi films with the movie Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai?, where she starred alongside Jassie Gill.

Surbhi Jyoti's Early Life and School Days
Surbhi Jyoti was born on May 29, 1988, in Jalandhar, a city in Punjab, India. She went to Shiv Jyoti Public School for her early education. After that, she studied at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya.
While at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Surbhi was very active in debates and won many honors. She earned a degree in Economics and later a Master's degree in English Literature from Apeejay College of Fine Arts.
Surbhi Jyoti's Acting Journey
Surbhi Jyoti began her career in local theater and films. She also worked as a radio jockey, which means she hosted radio shows. Before becoming a big TV star, she acted in Punjabi movies like Ik Kudi Punjab Di, Raula Pai Gaya, and Munde Patiala De. She also appeared in Punjabi TV shows such as Akiyaan To Door Jayen Na and Kach Diyan Wanga.
Becoming a Star with Qubool Hai

Towards the end of 2012, Surbhi got a big role in the TV show Qubool Hai. This show was made by 4 Lions Films and aired on Zee TV. She played the main character, Zoya Farooqui. Her performance was loved by many, and she won the GR8! Performer of the Year award. She also won the Best Debut Actress award at the Zee Gold Awards 2013. Surbhi and her co-star, Karan Singh Grover, also won the Best Jodi (Best Pair) Award.
In 2014, Qubool Hai changed its story, and Surbhi played two different roles: Sanam and Seher.
Hosting Shows and New Roles
In 2015, Surbhi hosted three seasons of the romantic TV show Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya with Meiyang Chang. She and Karanvir Bohra won the Best Onscreen Jodi Award at the 2015 Zee Gold Awards. Later in 2015, Qubool Hai took a 25-year jump in time, and Surbhi played her fifth role in the show, Mahira. The show finished in January 2016.
In 2016, Surbhi hosted a travel web show called Desi Explorers Taiwan. She also had a special appearance in the show Ishqbaaaz as Mallika Kabeer Choudhary, a businesswoman. In September 2016, she hosted another travel show, Desi Explorers Yas Island.
In 2017, Surbhi starred in the web series Tanhaiyan with Barun Sobti. She played Meera Kapoor, a fashion designer. All episodes of this show were released on Hotstar on February 14, 2017. That same year, she also starred in the Star Plus show Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai. In this show, she played Geetanjali Singh Shekhari, a girl from a royal family.
Success with Naagin 3 and Recent Work
In June 2018, Surbhi Jyoti took on the lead role of Bela Sehgal in Balaji Telefilms' popular show Naagin 3. This show, which aired on Colors TV, was a huge hit and ended in May 2019. In 2020, she also appeared in Yeh Jaadu Hai Jinn Ka.
Surbhi has also appeared in music videos. In 2020, she was in the music video for "Aaj Bhi" with actor Ali Fazal. She also featured in another music video for the song "Judaiyaan" with Darshan Raval.
In March 2021, Surbhi returned to the digital world with the web series Qubool Hai 2.0. This was a new version of her famous Zee TV show Qubool Hai. She worked again with Karan Singh Grover, playing their original roles as Zoya and Asad.
In 2021, Surbhi Jyoti made her first appearance in a Bollywood movie, Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai?, alongside Jassie Gill. In 2024, she starred as Amrit, a Kho Kho team captain, in the Punjabi movie Khadari with Gurnam Bhullar.

Surbhi Jyoti married her long-time boyfriend, actor Sumit Suri, on October 27, 2024. They had a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony at the Jim Corbett Resorts in Uttarakhand.
