Muhammad Tahir Panjpiri (Urdu: محمد طاہر پنج پیری; 10 February 1916 – 31 March 1987) was an important Islamic scholar from Pakistan. People called him Shaykh al-Quran because he was an expert in studying the Quran, which is the holy book of Islam. He helped shape the ideas of a group called the Panjpiris. This group is part of a larger Islamic movement known as the Deobandi movement. Panjpiri studied under a teacher named Hussain Ali. Later, he started his own school, Darul Quran Madrasa, in his hometown of Panjpir. After Hussain Ali, Muhammad Tahir Panjpiri became the leader of the group, which is why its followers are often called "Panjpiris."

He visited many mosques, asking people to come and listen to his lessons.

In 1938, he traveled to Mecca to perform Hajj, which is a pilgrimage for Muslims. He also studied the Quran with Ubaidullah Sindhi there. After his Hajj, he learned about the works of other famous scholars. Then he went to Medina, where he studied Sahih al-Bukhari, a very important collection of the Prophet's traditions.
