Talmage is a small community in Mendocino County, California. It is called a census-designated place (CDP), which means it's a special area the government uses to collect information about people. Talmage is located about 2.5 miles (4 km) east of Ukiah. It sits at an elevation of 627 feet (191 meters) above sea level.
In 2020, about 986 people lived in Talmage. The town is named after an early settler named Junius Talmage. It is also home to the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, which is one of the largest Chan Buddhist temples in the United States.
