Alexandre Ramos Samuel (born March 20, 1970), known to many as Tande, is a famous former volleyball player from Brazil. He started playing volleyball when he was just 12 years old. His first team was Botafogo.

Tande became a national hero when he won a gold medal with the Brazilian national volleyball team. This big win happened at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. It was a very exciting moment for Brazil!

He also played in other Olympic Games. In 1995, his team finished in fifth place at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, USA.

Tande also earned a silver medal for Brazil at the 1991 Pan American Games. This competition took place in Havana, Cuba.

Switch to Beach Volleyball

After a successful career in indoor volleyball, Tande decided to try something new. In 1997, he switched to beach volleyball. He teamed up with Giovane Gavio, who was also a former teammate from the indoor volleyball team.
