Tank (Pashto: ټانک / ټاک; Urdu: ٹانک; Saraiki: ٹاک) is an important city in Pakistan. It is the main city of the Tank District, which is part of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The city is located in the northwest of Dera Ismail Khan. It is also southeast of Jandola and the Tank Subdivision. To the northeast, you'll find Lakki Marwat and Bannu, while South Waziristan is to the west. Tank is found at 32º13' N. and 70º32' E. It is close to the Takht-i-Sulaiman mountain range and northwest of the Indus River.

What Languages Do People Speak in Tank?

A Bit of History

Long ago, the city of Tank was located inside a fort. An important event happened there in 1870. Sir Henry Marion Durand, who was a lieutenant-governor of the Punjab, passed away while riding an elephant under a gateway in the city.
