Early Life and Racing Start

Tanner Foust grew up in a family that moved a lot because of his dad's job in the Navy. He spent some of his childhood in Scotland. There, he first discovered rally racing. He learned to drive on the country roads nearby.

After returning to the United States, Tanner worked different jobs. He was a golf caddy and even a school bus driver for a short time. He then went to the University of Colorado. He studied biology there. But his love for cars never stopped. During summers, he worked at race tracks. He helped mechanics and coached drivers. In return, he got to practice driving racecars.

After college, Tanner became an ice driving coach. He also taught at car events. He raced in any event he could, including rally and drifting. In 2003, he became a professional racer. He moved to California to start doing stunt driving for Hollywood movies. Tanner has been lucky to race against famous drivers like Michael Schumacher and Jenson Button.
