Where is Taylor Springs?
Taylor Springs is in the southern part of Montgomery County. It shares its northern and eastern borders with Hillsboro, which is the main town of the county.
You can reach Taylor Springs using a few main roads:
- Illinois Route 127 runs along the east side of the village. It goes north to Hillsboro and south about 18 miles (29 km) to Greenville.
- Illinois Route 185 crosses the northeast corner of Taylor Springs. It leads southeast about 26 miles (42 km) to Vandalia.
The village covers a total area of about 1.09 square miles (2.82 km2). Most of this area is land, but about 0.03 square miles (0.08 km2) (or 3.03%) is water. The water in the village flows west towards the Middle Fork of Shoal Creek. This creek then flows south into the Kaskaskia River.
