Edward Michael Robbins (born 11 August 1955), known as Ted Robbins, is an English comedian, actor, and radio and television host. He is famous for his funny characters and has appeared in many popular British TV shows.

A Life in Comedy and TV
Ted Robbins has had a long and exciting career in entertainment. He started out by warming up the live audiences for TV shows like Birds of a Feather. This means he would tell jokes and get the crowd excited before the main show started filming.
He is also known for his voice work. He was the voiceover artist for the game show Catchphrase in the 1990s. He also narrated the audiobooks for The Railway Series, the books about Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends, written by Christopher Awdry.
Famous Roles
Many people know Ted Robbins for playing the main villain, Den Perry, in the comedy series Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights. He has also played many other memorable characters in shows for all ages.

Family and Interests
Ted Robbins comes from a very talented family. His sisters, Kate Robbins and Amy Robbins, are also actresses. His niece is the actress and comedian Emily Atack. He is also a first cousin once removed of The Beatles star, Paul McCartney.
His grandfather, also named Ted Robbins, was a very important figure in Welsh football. He was the secretary of the Football Association of Wales for almost 40 years. Following in his family's footsteps, Ted is a big supporter of the Wrexham AFC football club.
Ted is also the President of Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary in Lancashire, where he helps care for animals in need.
Health Scare
On January 31, 2015, Ted had a serious health scare while performing on stage during a Phoenix Nights Live show. He collapsed from a cardiac arrest, which is a very serious heart problem. Thankfully, he has since recovered and is doing much better after making healthy lifestyle changes.
Pantomime Star
Ted loves performing in pantomimes, which are funny plays often based on fairy tales. He has starred in shows like Cinderella and Aladdin in theatres in Preston, Stockport, and Liverpool.
