Augustine Miles Kelechi Okechukwu (born December 17, 1992), known as Tekno, is a talented singer, songwriter, and music producer from Nigeria. His song "Enjoy" was even featured in an episode of the popular TV show Ted Lasso.

Tekno's Early Life and Background
Tekno grew up in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. He was born in Bauchi State into a family with five boys and one girl. Because his father was in the Nigerian Army, Tekno moved around a lot. He lived in places like Nasarawa State, Kaduna, and Abuja.
When he was 8 years old, Tekno started attending a music school. There, he learned to play the piano and guitar very well. His older brother, Spotless, is also a musician in Nigeria.
Tekno's Music Journey
Tekno's music career began when he signed with K-Money Entertainment. His first big song, "Holiday," was released with them. It featured vocals from Davido and became very popular.
In 2012, a famous Nigerian comedian, Julius Agwu, saw Tekno perform in Abuja. Tekno received a standing ovation for his song "Onye Ne Kwu." At this event, he also met Iyanya and Ubi Franklin, who managed Made Men Music Group. They became friends and encouraged Tekno to move to Lagos to grow his music career.
On October 5, 2013, Tekno signed a recording contract with Made Men Music Group (MMMG). Under this label, he released hit songs like "Dance" and "Anything." These songs helped him get nominated for "Best New Act of the Year" at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
Hit Songs and International Recognition
On June 18, 2015, Tekno released his very popular song "Duro," produced by DJ Coublon. "Duro" was a huge success in Africa and the United States. A remix of the song, featuring Phyno and Flavour N'abania, came out on November 16, 2015. It topped many music charts in Nigeria. It also reached number 5 on Capital XTRA's Afrobeats Chart in September 2015.
Later in 2015, Tekno released another single called "Wash." In December 2016, Billboard magazine named Tekno one of the top ten hip-hop and R&B artists to watch in 2017. He is also known as the "Pana master."
In 2016, the legendary musician Elton John played Tekno's song "Diana" on his radio show, Rocket Hour, on Apple Music. Tekno also collaborated with DJ Cuppy on her first single, "Green Light," in October 2017.
In December 2017, Canadian rapper Drake shared photos with Tekno on Instagram, showing his appreciation. In August 2018, American singer Ciara teamed up with Tekno for a song called "Freak Me." Tekno also helped produce "Won't Be Late" by Swae Lee featuring Drake in August 2019.
In June 2018, Tekno signed a deal with Universal Music Group Nigeria (UMGN) and Island Records. In July 2019, he was featured on Beyoncé's The Lion King: The Gift album with the song "Don't Jealous Me."
Tekno released his first album, Old Romance, on December 6, 2020. In 2022, he was featured on Kizz Daniel's song Buga, which became the most Shazamed song that year. Davido also shared how Tekno helped him find new inspiration for his music career in 2022.
More recently, Tekno released the music video for his song "Puttin." In 2023, he released his album The More The Better. He also started a new partnership with Mr Eazi's emPawa Africa, becoming an investor and partner in the label. His latest single, "Wayo," was released in 2024.
Tekno's Personal Life
In May 2018, Tekno and his girlfriend welcomed a baby girl. In 2020, Tekno announced that he had moved to the United States.
In 2017, Tekno shared that he had acid reflux, a health condition. This condition became serious and affected his vocal cords. He had to have surgery to fix the problem.
