Tekno's Early Life and Background

Tekno grew up in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. He was born in Bauchi State into a family with five boys and one girl. Because his father was in the Nigerian Army, Tekno moved around a lot. He lived in places like Nasarawa State, Kaduna, and Abuja.

When he was 8 years old, Tekno started attending a music school. There, he learned to play the piano and guitar very well. His older brother, Spotless, is also a musician in Nigeria.

Tekno's Music Journey

Tekno's music career began when he signed with K-Money Entertainment. His first big song, "Holiday," was released with them. It featured vocals from Davido and became very popular.

In 2012, a famous Nigerian comedian, Julius Agwu, saw Tekno perform in Abuja. Tekno received a standing ovation for his song "Onye Ne Kwu." At this event, he also met Iyanya and Ubi Franklin, who managed Made Men Music Group. They became friends and encouraged Tekno to move to Lagos to grow his music career.

On October 5, 2013, Tekno signed a recording contract with Made Men Music Group (MMMG). Under this label, he released hit songs like "Dance" and "Anything." These songs helped him get nominated for "Best New Act of the Year" at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

Hit Songs and International Recognition

On June 18, 2015, Tekno released his very popular song "Duro," produced by DJ Coublon. "Duro" was a huge success in Africa and the United States. A remix of the song, featuring Phyno and Flavour N'abania, came out on November 16, 2015. It topped many music charts in Nigeria. It also reached number 5 on Capital XTRA's Afrobeats Chart in September 2015.
