Khalif Malik Ibn Shaman Brown (born June 7, 1993), who is known by his stage name Swae Lee, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He is famous for his unique singing style that often uses a reverb sound, and for mixing different types of music.
Swae Lee is one half of the hip-hop group Rae Sremmurd, which he started in 2010 with his brother, Slim Jxmmi. In 2013, they signed a record deal with EarDrummer Records, a label started by producer Mike Will Made It.
With Rae Sremmurd, Swae Lee released hit songs like "No Flex Zone", "No Type", and "Black Beatles". "Black Beatles" became a number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100, a chart that tracks the most popular songs in the U.S.
As a solo artist, Swae Lee has also had major success. He was a featured artist on French Montana's 2017 hit "Unforgettable", which was his first top-ten song by himself. In 2018, he teamed up with Post Malone for the song "Sunflower" from the movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. "Sunflower" also reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the first song ever to be certified double diamond, meaning it sold over 20 million copies.
