Terrance Smith (born May 3, 1993) is a former American football player. He played as a linebacker, a position where players stop the other team from scoring. Terrance played college football for Florida State University. After college, he joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016.

Early Life and High School Football
Terrance Smith grew up in Decatur, Georgia. He went to Southwest Dekalb High School. He was a very good football player there.
High School Achievements
As a junior, Terrance made over 120 tackles. He also had 15 sacks, which means he tackled the opposing team's quarterback. In his senior year, he continued to play well. He recorded 60 tackles and 10 sacks in just nine games. Besides football, Terrance was also a fast sprinter and jumper on the school's track & field team.
College Football Career
After high school, Terrance Smith went to Florida State University. He studied social science there. He also played for the Florida State Seminoles football team.
Playing for Florida State
In his first year (2011), Terrance played in two games. He then got injured and took a "medical redshirt" year. This meant he could recover and still have four years of playing eligibility. In 2012, he mostly played on special teams. He made nine tackles that year.
Key College Seasons
In 2013, Terrance became a starter, playing in 13 games. He made 59 tackles and had two sacks. He also caught one interception. For his great play, he was honored by the ACC. In 2014, he had his best college season. He made 86 tackles and caught two interceptions. One of these interceptions he returned for a touchdown! He was named Second-team All-ACC. In 2015, he played in nine games but missed some due to an ankle injury. He still made 64 tackles.
Professional Football Journey
After college, Terrance Smith began his professional football career. He joined several teams in different leagues.
Kansas City Chiefs
In 2016, Terrance was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs. He started on their practice squad. Later that year, he was moved to the active roster. He played for the Chiefs until 2018. In October 2018, he was placed on injured reserve because of a knee injury.
Other Teams
After the Chiefs, Terrance played for other teams. In 2019, he joined the Miami Dolphins. In 2020, he was part of the Arizona Cardinals practice squad. He was called up to play in a few games that season. In 2022, he signed with the Ottawa Redblacks in the Canadian Football League (CFL). In 2022, he was drafted by the Orlando Guardians in the XFL. The XFL later merged with another league, forming the United Football League.

Terrance Smith comes from a family of football players.
His father, Terry Smith, was a wide receiver for the Clemson Tigers. Terrance's cousin is DeAndre Hopkins, who is also a famous wide receiver in the NFL.
