Terrytown is part of the larger Scottsbluff area. It sits right next to the North Platte River. The cities of Scottsbluff and Gering, Nebraska are also nearby. Even though the river separates them, these cities have grown together. They form the seventh largest urban area in Nebraska. Terrytown is an important part of this growing area.

History of Terrytown
Terrytown was started in 1949. A man named Terry Carpenter founded the city. He was a successful businessman from Scottsbluff. Terry Carpenter also served as a state senator for Nebraska. He was a senator during the 1950s and 1960s.
