Teufenthal is found in a narrow, three-kilometer-long side valley of the Wyna river. This valley stretches towards the Dürrenäsch plateau in the east. The town is surrounded by hills: the Surberg foothills to the north and the High Rock foothills to the south. Only a small part of Teufenthal is actually in the main Wyna valley, where the river forms the western border.

The area of Teufenthal is about 3.57 square kilometers. A large part of this land is covered by forests, making up about 43.4%. Another 39.4% is used for farming. The rest, about 17.2%, is where buildings and roads are located. Over the last 20 years, the amount of land used for buildings has grown, while farmland has slightly decreased.

In 2009, about 17.1% of the total land was built up. This includes industrial buildings, homes, and roads. Parks and sports fields also take up a small part of the area. Most of the forested land is dense forest, with a small amount of orchards. For farming, most land is used for growing crops and pastures.

The highest point in Teufenthal is the Bampf, which is part of the Surberg, at 630 meters (about 2,067 feet) above sea level. The lowest point is at the Wyna river, at 438 meters (about 1,437 feet).

Teufenthal shares its borders with several other towns. To the north is Gränichen, to the northeast is Seon, and to the east and south are Dürrenäsch and Unterkulm.
