Teylingen is a municipality in the western part of the Netherlands. It is located in the province of South Holland. Teylingen was created on January 1, 2006. It was formed by joining three smaller places: Sassenheim, Voorhout, and Warmond. The municipality is named after Teylingen Castle, which is in Voorhout. In 2019, about 37,061 people lived in Teylingen.

Teylingen is surrounded by other towns and areas. To the north, it borders Noordwijkerhout and Lisse. To the east, you'll find Haarlemmermeer and Alkemade. Leiderdorp and Leiden are to the south, and Oegstgeest and Katwijk are to the west. Teylingen is part of a special area known as the "Dune and Bulb Region." This region is famous for its beautiful flower fields. The Kagerplassen lake system is located to the east of Sassenheim.
