Solving Mysteries with the Chan Family
In this cartoon, the famous detective Charlie Chan solves mysteries. He gets help from his ten children and their clever dog, Chu Chu. Sometimes, his kids help him, and other times, they cause a bit of trouble!
The family travels all over the world in their special vehicle, the Chan Van. This van was built by Alan Chan, who is a teenage genius. With just a push of a button, the van can change into different forms to help them on their adventures.
Just like many Hanna-Barbera cartoons from that time, the Chan kids also have a music band. They are called the Chan Clan. In every episode, the band performs a song.

Voice Actors Behind the Characters
The voice of Charlie Chan was played by Keye Luke. He was the first actor of Chinese background to play Charlie Chan on screen. Keye Luke had also played "Number One Son" Lee Chan in the older Charlie Chan movies.
Some of the children's voices were re-recorded after the first few episodes. This was done so American audiences could understand them better. Famous actress Jodie Foster was one of the voice actors for Anne Chan.
