The Badlands are a group of hills and small mountains in Riverside County, California. They are also known as the San Timoteo Badlands. These hills stretch from the northwest to the southeast. They help separate different areas in California.

What are The Badlands?

The Badlands are a mountain range, but they are not very tall. Their highest point is about 692 feet (211 meters) high. This makes them more like large hills than towering mountains. They are an important part of the landscape in Riverside County.

Where are The Badlands Located?

The Badlands are found in Southern California. To their southwest, you can find the San Jacinto Valley. To their northeast is the San Timoteo Canyon. The larger San Jacinto Mountains are located to the east.

These hills act like a natural border. They separate the cities of Beaumont and Moreno Valley. Even though they are a natural barrier, people can still travel through them.

How Do People Cross The Badlands?

Several roads go through The Badlands. Two main state highways cross these hills. These are California State Route 60 and California State Route 79. There are also a few smaller roads that help people get around. These roads make it easier to travel between the cities that the hills separate.
