The Black Valley, also called Cummeenduff (which means "Black Glen" in Irish), is a very quiet and beautiful valley in County Kerry, Ireland. It sits at the southern end of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks mountain range. This valley is located south of the famous Gap of Dunloe and north of Moll's Gap. It's often used as a way to get into the Gap of Dunloe from the south.

How to Reach The Valley
Most people get to the Black Valley by driving towards Moll's Gap. From there, you continue east on the R568 road. You'll then find a small side-road that goes steeply down into the valley. This road is near a place called "Gearhasallagh."
Exploring The Area
The Black Valley is a great spot for outdoor adventures. It's part of the Kerry Way, which is a long walking trail. The Kerry Way is like a special path for walkers that goes around the famous Ring of Kerry. Both of these trails start and end in Killarney.
Cyclists also love the Black Valley. It's part of a 55-kilometre loop that includes Killarney, the Gap of Dunloe, the Black Valley, and Moll's Gap. This loop offers amazing views and a good challenge for bike riders.
The valley also provides a way to reach other popular spots. You can get to the Head of the Gap and Lord Brandon's Cottage from here. These places are well-known for their stunning scenery and are popular with visitors.
