The Story of Saurus Rock
A Legend Begins
One night, Littlefoot's grandfather shares an old story with the young dinosaurs. He tells them about the beginning of their world. He also speaks of "The Lone Dinosaur," a brave Longneck. This legendary dinosaur once saved the Great Valley from a very dangerous Sharptooth. During their big fight, the Sharptooth was defeated. The Lone Dinosaur got a scar over his right eye.
Soon after this battle, a huge rock shaped like a long-necked dinosaur appeared. It had Sharptooth teeth around its neck. This happened during a big earthshake. The dinosaurs named this special rock "Saurus Rock." The legend says that if anyone harms this rock, bad luck will come to the Valley.
Doc, the Mysterious Dinosaur
The next day, Littlefoot is playing when he accidentally falls off a cliff. A mysterious Diplodocus named Doc saves him. Littlefoot notices that Doc has a scar over one eye. Doc also seems to know a lot about the Great Valley. This makes Littlefoot think that Doc might be the legendary Lone Dinosaur.
Littlefoot tells his friends about Doc. He even makes up a story to support his idea. Cera's young nieces, twin dinosaurs named Dinah and Dana, hear this. They get inspired and sneak off to Saurus Rock without anyone noticing.
Trouble at Saurus Rock
The next day, Cera is worried because Dinah and Dana are missing. The group quickly figures out where the twins went. Littlefoot and his friends rush to Saurus Rock. They find Dinah and Dana playing on top of the giant rock.
As they climb up to rescue them, Dinah and Dana accidentally fall. They land on one of the stone teeth on Saurus Rock. The tooth breaks off and crumbles to the ground. It almost hits Spike! Dinah and Dana start to cry. Cera tells them it's not their fault. Instead, she blames Littlefoot for talking about the legend.
Dinah and Dana correct Cera. They remind her that she told them to "get lost" earlier. Suddenly, an Allosaurus starts chasing them. The children quickly cross a deep gorge using a log. The Sharptooth tries to follow, but the log breaks under its weight. The Allosaurus falls, seeming to be defeated.
Consequences and Courage
On their way home, Cera's father confronts them. He learns that Dinah and Dana ran away to Saurus Rock. He scolds Cera for not watching the twins properly. He tells her he is very angry and disappointed. Cera has to march straight home.
That night, Littlefoot has a bad dream. In his dream, he falls off a tooth on Saurus Rock. Then, the entire rock collapses.
Over the next few days, strange things happen in the Valley. A tornado hits, causing damage. During the storm, Cera bravely saves the twins. Doc also saves Littlefoot from the worst of the storm. Dinah and Dana tell Cera's father how brave she was. He tells his daughter that he is proud of her.
Littlefoot's grandfather finds Doc with Littlefoot. Grandpa thanks Doc for protecting his grandson. However, the adult dinosaurs blame Doc for the bad luck. They think the problems started after he arrived. Littlefoot, though, blames himself and his friends. He remembers breaking Saurus Rock.
Heroes Emerge
To prove Doc is innocent, Littlefoot tries to get a Sharptooth tooth. He wants to use it to fix Saurus Rock. While doing this, he discovers the Allosaurus is still alive! After escaping it, Littlefoot is attacked by a Tyrannosaurus. Luckily, Grandpa Longneck arrives, led by Littlefoot's friends.
Soon, the Allosaurus returns. It teams up with the Tyrannosaurus to fight Grandpa Longneck. They are very strong together. But then, Doc comes to help! Doc and Grandpa work together. They pull down a pile of rocks, burying the two sharpteeth.
One of the Allosaurus' teeth falls out. The children use it to repair Saurus Rock. Doc decides to leave the Valley. He tells Littlefoot that he already has a hero to depend on: Grandpa. Littlefoot asks Grandpa if the bad luck will finally end. They both agree that there's no such thing as "bad luck." But it's still good to make sure everything is okay. Littlefoot and Cera later create their own new legend. They tell a story about Grandpa Longneck as a hero called "The Great Dinosaur."
