The Lodge is a fun British TV show that mixes music, drama, and mystery. It first aired on Disney Channel in the UK on September 23, 2016. In the United States, it started on October 17, 2016. The series is based on an Israeli show called North Star. It stars Sophie Simnett, Luke Newton, Thomas Doherty, Bethan Wright, Jayden Revri, Jade Alleyne, Joshua Sinclair-Evans, and Mia Jenkins.

What the Show is About

The story follows 15-year-old Skye. She moves with her dad, Ed, from the big city to the countryside in Northern Ireland. They take over a hotel called North Star. Skye's grandfather, Patrick, used to own it.

Skye tries to start a new life in her new home. But it's not easy! She has to deal with all the normal challenges of being a teenager. Then, she finds out her dad plans to sell the hotel to a man named Gil. Skye gets really upset because she has grown to love the place.

She decides to try and convince her dad not to sell. But then she learns that Gil is the father of her new friend! Skye's friends support her, but not everyone wants to save the hotel. As the show goes on, Skye uncovers secrets. These secrets will change her life and the future of the North Star hotel.

How the Show Was Made

In July 2015, Disney Channel UK decided to create The Lodge. Its first name was North Star. For the first series, they planned 13 episodes, but later made 10. The main character, Skye, was originally named Maia, just like in the Israeli show North Star.

The Lodge was filmed in Northern Ireland, specifically in County Down. Most scenes were shot at Montalto Estate and The Carriage Rooms, both in Ballynahinch.

On December 13, 2016, it was announced that the show would have a second series. This second series started in 2017 and had 15 episodes. Production for it began on February 21, 2017.

The Lodge was special because it featured a character, Josh (Joshua Sinclair-Evans), talking about who he likes in a way that hadn't been shown on Disney Channel before.

Music from the Show

The show is a musical, so it has lots of great songs! Two albums were released with music from The Lodge.

Where and When it Aired

The very first episode of The Lodge, called "The New Girl", was put online in the UK on September 8, 2016. This was more than two weeks before it was shown on TV! The first series then started in the United States on Disney Channel on October 17, 2016.

Later, in late 2016 and early 2017, the show was released in 108 more countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. You can also watch The Lodge on the streaming service Disney+.
