The New Casper Cartoon Show facts for kids
The New Casper Cartoon Show was a fun animated TV show that aired on ABC every Saturday morning. It was based on the popular Harvey Comics character, Casper the Friendly Ghost.
Casper wasn't alone in his adventures! He was joined by his friends from the comics, including Wendy the Good Little Witch, the mischievous Ghostly Trio, Spooky the Tuff Little Ghost, and his ghost horse, Nightmare. The show first appeared on TV on October 5, 1963.
The series featured 26 brand-new Casper cartoons made by Paramount Cartoon Studios. It also included some older cartoons from 1959–62, mostly from series like Modern Madcaps and Noveltoons. All the voices for Casper and his friends were done by Norma MacMillan and Bradley Bolke.
Even though all the new cartoons were made for the first season (1963-1964), the show was so popular that ABC kept showing reruns for six years! It finally ended on January 30, 1970.
