Timothy Weah's Soccer Journey
Starting His Soccer Career
Timothy learned to play soccer from his father. He played for a team called West Pines United in Florida. Later, he moved back to New York and joined the Rosedale Soccer Club. This club was owned by his uncle. Timothy played for BW Gottschee for three seasons. Then, in 2013, he joined the New York Red Bulls Academy. When he was 13, he even had a tryout with the famous club Chelsea.
In 2014, Timothy moved to France to join the Paris Saint-Germain Academy. In his very first game with the academy team, he scored three goals! This helped PSG win 8–1 against a Bulgarian team called Ludogorets Razgrad. This was in the UEFA Youth League.
Playing for Paris Saint-Germain

On July 3, 2017, Timothy Weah signed a professional contract with Paris Saint-Germain in France. This was special because his father had also played for this club in the 1990s. For most of that season, he played with the reserve team and the under-19 team.
Timothy played his first game for the main Paris Saint-Germain team on March 3, 2018. He came into the game as a substitute. He made his first start for the team in a game against Caen. Timothy scored his first goal for PSG in a big 4–0 win against Monaco on August 4, 2018. This was in a competition called the Trophée des Champions. A week later, he scored his first league goal in a 3–0 win over Caen.
In January 2019, Timothy joined Celtic in Scotland for a six-month loan. He said he "loved" the club. He played his first game for Celtic on January 19 and scored a goal in a 3–0 win. His second goal for Celtic, and first in the league, came on January 23. With Celtic, he helped the team win the Scottish Premiership. His loan ended early because he was chosen to play for the US team in the Under-20 World Cup.
Time with Lille

On June 29, 2019, Timothy Weah signed a five-year contract with Lille. He started playing for them on July 1. He played his first game for Lille on August 11, helping them win 2–1 against Nantes.

He came back from injury during the 2020–21 Ligue 1 season. He scored his first goal for Lille in a game against his old club Celtic. On December 16, he scored his first league goal for Lille, helping them win 2–0. He played 28 games and scored three goals as Lille won their first league title in ten years. On August 1, Lille won the 2021 Trophée des Champions 1–0 against PSG.
On March 19, 2022, Timothy was sent off (given a red card) in a game against Nantes. He scored two goals in a home game against Rennes on May 21, 2022.

On January 4, 2024, Timothy scored his first goal for Juventus. It was in a 6–1 win against Salernitana in the Coppa Italia cup competition. Juventus went on to win the Coppa Italia that season.
Playing for His Country
Timothy Weah could have played for France, Jamaica, or Liberia because of his family and where he lived. But he chose to play for the United States. He said it was an easy choice because he loves the country and his teammates.
Youth National Teams
Timothy has played for several United States youth teams. He was called to train with the under-14 team in 2012. He scored the winning goal for the under-15 team in a tournament final in Italy.

Timothy was chosen to play for the United States in the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India. In one game, he scored three goals (a hat-trick!) against Paraguay. This was the first hat-trick by a US men's player in the knockout stages of any World Cup.
He also played for the United States in the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland. He scored two goals in that tournament.
