Early Life and Beginnings

Tish Hyman was born and grew up in the Bronx, NY. From a young age, she enjoyed "battle rapping." This is a fun competition where people rap against each other.

In 2010, Tish moved to Los Angeles, California. There, she started writing songs for other musicians. In 2011, she wrote a song for Ahsan Watts. This song helped him get a record deal. It also showed everyone how talented Tish was as a songwriter.

Soon after, Tish signed a deal with Universal Music Publishing Group. This meant she would write songs for many famous artists. She worked with stars like Alicia Keys, Diddy, Kanye West, and Kelly Rowland.

First Songs and EP

Tish Hyman released her first song, Subway Art, on March 3, 2015. The music video for this song came out on April 27, 2015. The song talks about the daily challenges of people who ride the New York City subway. Many people compared her style and voice to the famous singer Lauryn Hill.

Her second song, "Home For Christmas," was released on December 15, 2015. It was first played on the radio show of Ebro Darden.

Tish also appeared on other artists' songs. She was featured on Fabolous' song You Made Me in 2015. She also sang on Dom Kennedy's song "2 Bad" that same year.

In 2015, Tish Hyman became the first female rapper to complete the "5 Fingers of Death" freestyle challenge. This challenge happened on the radio show Sway in the Morning on Sirius XM. She also wrote the song "Horses in the Stable" for Ty Dolla Sign's 2015 album Free TC.

Tish Hyman's first collection of songs, called an EP (Extended Play), was released on July 12, 2016. It was titled Dedicated To. Many talented producers worked on this EP, including Bink and Timothy Bloom.
