Starting Out in Music
In 2010, Tish moved to Los Angeles, California. There, she began writing songs for other musicians. In 2011, she wrote a song for Ahsan Watts. This song helped him get a record deal, and it showed everyone how talented Tish was as a songwriter.
After that, Tish signed a deal with Universal Music Publishing Group. This meant she could write songs with famous artists like Alicia Keys, Diddy, Kanye West, and Kelly Rowland.
Releasing Her Own Songs
Tish Hyman released her first song, Subway Art, on March 3, 2015. The music video for it came out on April 27, 2015. This song talks about the daily challenges people face when riding the New York City subway. Many people said her style and voice sounded like the famous singer Lauryn Hill.
Her second song, "Home For Christmas", was released on December 15, 2015. It was first played on Vibe and on Ebro Darden's radio show.
Tish was also featured on other artists' songs. She sang on Fabolous' song You Made Me in 2015. She also appeared on Dom Kennedy's song "2 Bad" that same year. In 2015, she was the first female rapper to successfully complete the "5 Fingers of Death" freestyle challenge on Sway in the Morning radio show. She also wrote "Horses in the Stable" for Ty Dolla Sign's 2015 album Free TC.
Tish Hyman's first collection of songs, called an EP (Extended Play), was named Dedicated To. It came out on July 12, 2016. Many talented producers worked on it, including Bink and Timothy Bloom.
