Toaster Strudel is a yummy toaster pastry. You heat these frozen treats in a toaster. Then, you spread the special icing that comes with them on top! Toaster Strudels were special because they were one of the first pastries kept frozen. This was new and exciting for food in the 1980s.
The Story of Toaster Strudel
Toaster Strudel pastries are sold under the Pillsbury brand. They first came out in 1985. They were created to compete with Kellogg's Pop-Tarts. Pop-Tarts were not frozen, but Toaster Strudels were!
In 1994, Toaster Strudel got a famous advertising slogan: "Something better just popped up." Later, around 2013, they introduced a fun character named Hans Strudel. He helped launch a new slogan: "Get Zem Göing."
In 2001, a company called General Mills bought Pillsbury. This meant General Mills now owned Toaster Strudel. In 2023, General Mills used a new slogan for the pastries: "Gooey. Flaky. Happy."
Different Kinds of Toaster Strudel
Toaster Strudels come in many tasty flavors. The most common ones are strawberry, blueberry, and apple. You can also find flavors like cinnamon roll, chocolate, and even boston cream pie.
In 2020, they made a special "Mean Girls" Toaster Strudel for a limited time. These had pink icing instead of the usual white icing.
