Toaster Strudel is a brand of yummy toaster pastry. You heat these frozen pastries in a toaster. Then, you spread the sweet icing packet that comes with them on top. It's special because it's stored frozen, which was a new idea for food back in the 1980s.
The Story of Toaster Strudel
Toaster Strudel is sold under the Pillsbury brand. It first came out in 1985. The goal was to compete with Kellogg's Pop-Tarts. Pop-Tarts were also toaster pastries, but they weren't frozen. Toaster Strudel quickly became very popular!
In 1994, the company started using a famous advertising slogan: "Something better just popped up." Later, around 2013, they introduced a fun character named Hans Strudel. The new slogan became "Get Zem Göing."
In 2001, a big company called General Mills bought Pillsbury. This meant General Mills then owned the Toaster Strudel product line. In 2023, General Mills used a new advertising slogan: "Gooey. Flaky. Happy."
Different Toaster Strudel Flavors
Toaster Strudels come in many different flavors. Some of the most common ones are strawberry, blueberry, and apple. You can also find flavors like cinnamon roll, chocolate, and boston cream pie.
In 2020, the company even released a special "Mean Girls" Toaster Strudel for a limited time. It had pink icing instead of the usual white icing.
